| Comments: | Dear Yo and Keith. Lovely web page for your Cann family! My Cann family were in Spreyton in Devon for several generations. They lived in Fuidge Manor. My Great Grand Father was Thomas Martyn Cann- his father was John Arthur; my father was John Morris and I am John Peter Cann. Our family crest is a single leopard walking to the right. Yours seems to be three leopards. I can let you have dates if you wish. Our family married into the Martyn family from Athelhampton Hall in Dorset. |

By the way, the RF coils are switched in parallel, not series, which can be confusing. 73 |

| Comments: | Hi, great site. On the Cann hunt for confirmation of the Cann branch of brothers that came from Bristol, UK to Nova Scotia in the mid 1700's. Nova Scotia records document most of them and their families, etc. (and so I have many many many cousins) and my line comes from George Cann (lighthouse keeper on Flint Island, NS in the mid 1800's). He married Sarah Ann Moffatt and so on and so on. Apart from my mother's Newman side, mostly Scottish descent. Am interested in the Cann's in Mass. US and the UK connection. Please contact me and I'd love to share what I have. Happy searching all :) |

| Comments: | JULY 2011: Hi Keith.....Nice to see the old T1154/R1155 still going strong. As an RAF Lancaster/hastings/Valetta W/Op, could tell you some stories about those, till they were EVENTUALLY replaced by the STR18 equipment. Retired many years now from the RAF as a Master Air Electronics Officer. Wonder if you have had any contact with PD2ED (Edwin) who is connected with a Dutch Museum? You can usually find him on EchoLink working into the PA2P-L repeater. He has a fairly good condition 1154/1155 set up.....But don't think it is in working order so far yet. (Saw one at the Newbury Rally recently ...not in very good condition for 300 GBP. We also for many years of course also used the A1134 amp to use on 'voice' down the Transport Command route to VK and back from RAF Lyneham here. I then spent a tour at RAF Changi flying the Mk4 VIP Hastings belonging to the C-in-C Far East (Adm Sir David LUCE from Malmesbury) |

Doing my family tree and came upon your site. Looks great. I am having trouble finding information on a Annie Cann mother of my Henry Cann 1850 1916 Nova Scotia. His wife was Jessie MacDonald 1870 1935 Nova Scotia. Ann or Annie was mention in the 1901 Canadian census as living with her son Henry and family. She was listed as a widow and she was 88 at the time. She and her husband was mention on the wedding papers parents of Henry but only there first names James and Ann or Annie ??? don't know if you can help but worth a try! Thanks for and help you can provide. |

| Comments: | Hi Keith.
I wonder if you remember me. Think back to around 1969. I was an SWL in Poole. I used to come to your shack and hang out. We drove to Longleet one year in my white Ford Anglia with a huge whip on the roofrack. I think we went once in your car too (Morris Minor?). I used to listen to you on topband on Sunday mornings. I moved to the USA in 1981, Turn 60 next tear. I was a commercial pilot for many years, still fly part time and work full time as an IT Manager. Do a bit of singing on the side. So...what have you been up to for the last 40 ears or so? Best regards. Robert N7LYS |

| Comments: | Nice site Keith. Your musings on getting a 19 set working ‘as a lad’ were almost identical to mine – except I was given one by my uncle George who had bought it (like yourself) thinking it would be –plug and play’ only to relegate it to the shed when he realized it was beyond his technical prowess. He was please when I showed an interest in radio when I was around 14 and he took me down to the shed to rescue it. I too had the same thrill when I fathomed-out the circuit (I actually traced it as I did not have the diagram) and got it to work – I can still recall that fusty smell when I was poking around under the chassis…. Unfortunately I loaned the set to a friend some years later and that was the last I saw of it.
Current/recent restorations include a Racal RA-117, HRO, several Eddystones and many 1920-1940 domestic sets. |
