Comments:Dear Professor Yoo,

I want to take the time to let you know that I really enjoyed your class. I have learned so much from you, not just math 251, but life lessons which I will never forget, such as there is nothing better than a lot of practices --I truly agree. And also, time is the only thing in life that is fair, meaning that we all have 24 hours. It is the choices that we make in life with that precious time is what really counts. Yes, we can only live today, but our todays are the stepping stones for our tomorrows. Concluding that what I believe is the secret to success and the joy of living is filling the unforgiving moment with sixty seconds with distance run than you become a winner--and we all can be winners! My personal formula for success is the following: I like to start small and end up big, such as I study- - a second at a time--a minute at a time-- a day at a time--a week at a time--and a semester at a time. So far so good, presently I have earned 72 credits and my GPA is a 4.0. I am not intellectually gifted, but I am a hard worker, who never gives up especially when I am challenged that is what makes me successful.

And I thank you, Professor Yoo a thousand times for being such a wonderful instructor--Your not just a math specialist, but indeed a special humanitarian, which I believe that your parents deserve special recognition for raising you to be a really nice person and distinguished educator!

Sincerely,

Johanna Redmond

Comments:Dear Mr Yun Yoo,
It is so great to become your student in this semester. Honestly, you are a best Math teacher whom I ever have. Iam sorry because my English is not good enough to write as well as others and to make you understand, but i try my best. I am not a very good Math student at all, but I feel like I can understand your lecture easier than my other Math teacher, and it is so interest. I knew that my first test was not very good, but i will try for a second one. Iam working on it. Therefore, thank you so much for your patient and optimistic to us. I hope that your students at 251 class get good grade for a next test...*smile*...please don't laught at me because of my writing.

Comments:You are one of the most motivating and honorable person that I've met in my travels at CCP. A quote you gave us early one Monday in Calculus class touched my soul because I've always believed it to be true. You articulated it, "If you want to be different, do something different. Don't do what your peers do (party) on the weeked, STUDY. Don't study engineering because of the huge amounts of money that you will make, do it because you love it." Yun Yoo, I just want you to know taht my spirit will not allow me to partake in any longterm endeavor that I do not love, have passion for, and believe to benefit humanity.

How is your research going? I can't believe first semester
in college is over so fast! I had fun and did well in
calculus II. I had an A. I hope that would make you proud. I learned a great deal from you at Penn. That helped me a lot in calc II at Temple. I just want to thank you again, and yes I was accepted to the premed program at Penn's hospital. I will have my ID taking next wednesday.
I just went on to your ccp's homepage. You are not only a
great teacher, you are so "kool".

I wish you and your family a merry Christmas and sincere
good wishes for the holidays.

Your student,

Comments:As you know, you are a splendid Mathematician. The method you teach math is very effective and you really explain the material in fundamental ways.
One thing that I remember that was very helpful to me in Calculus I was how you showed me to differentiate any trignometric and exponential function.
"Sin box, box prime", "Cosine box, box prime" etc.
Thank you very much.
Last but not least, your website is well-done! Good Job!

Comments:Dear Professor Yoo,

I so enjoyed taking your both Calculus I and II workshops this summer. Your workshops showed me how I can learn mathematics and love mathematics at the same time. You were very patient with all of us and gave us much encouragement from the beginning to the end. You showed us how anyone could learn mathematics if we work on it. I cannot think of anyone who could not come to love mathematics after taking your class. You explained us every steps of solving the problems and made it looks like effortless. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful instructor. I hope I will have the oppotunity to take more classes from you in the future.

With much gratitude,

Tamiyo

Comments:Hi yun yoo,

I was very happy when I saw the A. I really learn a lot in your class. You are such an inspiration for the youth. I really felt very comfortable in your class. Keep the good work. You don't know it but the day that you say to us not to give up it make me feel sentimental. Sometimes we as a foreign students has to work very hard but tha's ok. We need to be focus in the things that we want in life. I hope to finish my BS in Biology soon. Then I would take a master in nutrition and finally my doctoral degree in nutrition.
So we keep in touch.

Best,

Bertha Cooper
