i like your unselfish presentation and frank views ! my hobby started since we moved house there was an unpleasant door/window in the dining room so i cut it off and customised a 120 litre tank to sit on the sill,that was 5 months ago. good friends and sites like yours gave me the insight of what to expect ! now i have in the main tank pairs of guppies, gold fish,discus,angels,catfish,convicts and a breeding tank floating in main tank with 18 guppies fry,just last weekend got an 80litre tank and transferred the angels in time! monday got home from work and lo one side of pump is shining with eggs!!just one thing worries me there are a lot of transparent eggs and a few white ones, why is this so ? thanks so much keep up the good work! | Comments: | I have a 10 gallon tank full of three goldfish and one Bristlenose catfish. Each goldfish is of a different kind so imagine my supprise when someone laid eggs! We also have a lot of live plants that grow so well I have to trim them. In researching on the web I have found that it was our Bristlenose that laid the eggs. I did not know that she would do this with out a male. I was thinking that maybe we should get her a mate? Obviously the eggs did not hatch but wondered if you could tell me how to tell a male from a female by looking at them? We just may decide to set them up in their own tank. | Comments: | thank you for u 2 being out there, people who have breed hard to breed plecos(zebra), and telling and sharring about it. i had up 2 7 tanks going, from 10 to 107 gal. i now only run a 25, 107, and a couple hospital tanks. i have a few and have had a few rare fish, some i have now are royal, gold nugget, and a black and big white spotted plecoes(sorry have not been able to find the name for that beauty), royal farwellas, true upsidedown catfish, and endlers livebearer's, which i love like my plecoes. the endlers i am going to start breeding them, because they are beautiful and don't exsist in the wild any more. already have one fry that is doing well. i also love plecoes, and mostly the zebra. the zebra is one i would love to have and try to breed and learn their habits. if you have any u could spare to sell, mabey a small collony, mixed gene pool preferably to keep it strong, that would be very appriciated. i live in b.c. canada, and have never so much as gotten anything over the mail, much less living fish!!! if u could help me out on how that works or can be done, in case u do have the spare plecoes or someone else does, i can do it right, that wou;d be awsome! thanks. i have a couple 60 gal's set out for these guys.
