| Comments: | Hi from a fan in the UK.
Being a lover of good music and a fan of Don Cornell, I have ben trying to find a copy of his recording of a song entitled The Book. No mention of it in any of my UK record books, but I am sure I remember him singing this song about 1954/55. Am I wrong or can anyone help me in my search? Don was about the last of the great band singers, the current crop are fairly average impersonations. Regards to Dons family and all his appreciative fans. |

| Comments: | I was trying to find a song my parents sang to me as a child called NaNeNaNa and and much to my wonder found it here. I believe my father, Frank Sorrell (Sorrentino) worked with Mr. Cornell during his Sammy Kaye days. My father was a guitarist with Sammy Kaye then went out on his own and had moderate success in New York and Virginia. Believe it or not - I think my step mother still has the original 78rpm recording of the song that Mr. Cornell recorded with my dad's band. There were a couple of other songs that I think Mr. Cornell recorded with my dad - "It's Merry Christmas Time" and "Rock Island Line". I am delighted that I found this site!! |

| Comments: | I had seen this page a few years ago. IT bothers me now to see that you could not resist the call of the cowards and included a "soft protest" in this updated version. I know , first hand, that these "soft protests " were very heartwarming to enemies of of our fighting men. Be they combative "agrarian reformers" or Hollywood liberals. One rule of warfarfe dear lady is you never give away the location of your machine gun and you never give ammo to your enemies. No matter how "soft" you think the protest may be...Raymond Duke, CWO US Army, Retired....e un vero peccato che il suo marito aveva una pronuncia in italiano cosi bruta .... |

I guess we never forget our teen years, even when all inbetween has become a blur. R.I.P., Don. Job well done, and best wishes to his family and friends. |
