I belong to an embroiderers' guild, and the theme for our next exhibit is "Our Heritage." Since both my mother's parents emigrated from Bohemia in the 19th century, I wondered whether there is a form of embroidery that is "special" to that region/country. If you can put me on the trail of such designs, I would be grateful.

I love your website, the cloths the music simply beautiful. I really hope to be able to afford to buy an outfit someday, cause I love the traditional Czech dresses. When I was growing up we used to go to the SPJST Lodge in Houston and liston to Czech music at my Nannie and Papa's house all the time. So it makes me feel kind of at home when I liston to Czech music. Oh and just in case you don't know there is a website at: radiotower.com where you can liston to radio stations all over the world for free, I liston to it all the time. Neways, have a nice day and God bless. And thank you for keeping our Czech heritage alive! =)

Hi!
I am wondering if you do any kroj rentals. I need one for this coming weekend, so I would need to have it shipped ASAP. It's for a 12-year old; she needs a size 12. It doesn't have to be authentic to her family's area, as she's a Little Sister Shadow.
Thank you so much for any information or advice!

Our SPJST Youth Club is in the beginning stages of learning and dancing the Beseda. Since we are just starting out and have a very small budget, we would like to make some simple Czech costumes. Are there patterns available for us to go by?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Nice Costumes. My son is the current Oklahoma Czech Prince and we hope to come to your festival this fall to experience another Czech community and your way of honoring our heritage. (I too dance the Beseda and my boys are folk dancers. We enjoy attending Czech School here in Yukon, OK)

I love your dresses. In my community in Chatham Kent Ontarion Canada, we have what is called St Anthony's Day every year, since I was little. Unfortunately this is the last year all the old Czech people are too old to attend the church and us kids have just grown up and got away. Anyway I am dancing this year. ( Haven't for YEARS!) We ( the adults ) are just doing the Beseda ( sorry if I spelled it wrong) I can speak a little Czech, but definitely not write it!!
My grandparents were born in the old country. I would love to go.
My grandma, bless her heart lent our my Great Grandmothers costume from the old country and now it is missing!! AHH Now I need a Kroj costume ( the costume I wore when I was 12 just won't fit )So I was wondering how much a full costume runs, size 12.
I love the pink costume, plus my son is dancing and singing...I am getting desperate no one can find my Great grandma or grandmothers costumes everything is MIA.

If you get the oppurtunity please write back.

Thanks

PS St Anthony's day is June 9-10th THIS YEAR AUGH!1 : )

I live in Fredericksburg, and I see you and your husband and the Czech dancers at Fredericksburg each summer & fall at NIOF & Oktober Fest. Although I am not Czech, I was raised by a Czech Step Father from the time I was 11years old, and I married a Czech girl from the San Angelo area. So I may not be Czech by blood, but I am by marriage, my Mother's & my own. Love your site.

Wonderful Website! It warms my heart to be able to connect with things Czech via the Internet. Now I am hoping to make a "pilgrimage" to Texas in the next year or two so that I can enjoy the culture you have so proudly maintained! In London I went to "Ceska Skola" and in San Francisco to Sokol in the 60's, but not many Czechs, and no cultural events, in the Puget Sound area in Washington. Keep up the good work! P.
